Trivia: The Bates Motel was never really seen in any type of wide shot because the exterior set was still dressed for the TV pilot Bates Motel (1987).

Some footage from the Psycho films appeared on the episode including various errie shots of the house, the shower head closeups, the neon sign that originally appeared in Psycho II and a clip featuring Martin Balsam as Arbogast from the original Psycho. In one scene Jessica Fletcher (Angela Lansbury) watches the original Psycho on TV in her hotel room and sees the footage of Arbogast.
